Beyond the Medals

Competition footage tells you who won. It almost never tells you what it cost. This film was built the other way around: months of gym access first, tournament coverage second, so the matches land as the consequence of something rather than the whole story.

Shot across a full season on a two-person crew, deliberately small enough to disappear into a training room. The edit holds on the quiet stretches — the taping, the weight cuts, the waiting — and lets the matches play at their real speed rather than cutting them into a highlight reel.

Finished in-house: story edit, colour grade and a sound mix built around the room tone of the gym itself.
